This is the view up our old chimney! We looked up while they were rebuilding the top and you can see the sky. Its now got a flue on it for the woodburner, so wont look like this for a few years.
It was lovely to see inside it and I cant wait until April when they open the old inglenook up again.

This is a cardigan Im making L, its a 40s/50s pattern with little scottie dogs. The wool is actually a lovely burgandy colour and was an awful mans sweater I took apart. I just have the sleeves and ribbing now. Im also making her a beret to match. Its the first time I have done a real pattern and not one I made up, so Im happy with how it came out.
This is currently our kitchen! Its a huge mess. it all started when I dug a small hole and found the wooden beam over the alcove. Then we discovered the huge brick chimney and archway were fake. So the builder has pulled all that out and freed up a good few feet in the kitchen.
We found an old bricked up window here. The beam is the black bit and all burnt from the chimney. Its alot lower than the other window, but it would be nice to reopen it again but we have to build a small chimney there :(
You cant tell from the pic, but the wall is level all the way across now, as it used to stick out 1"+ from the window, which made it very dark.

This was all plastered over and had awful shelves in it.
